viciouskitty74 SG yep....you really need the drink. Go on. I recommend the drinks too. I know it helps when i needs it.
Rhonda SG Sigh... leaving today, feeling a bit reluctant yet, I do wanna go home! I'm quite a worrywart though... I just hope that nobody has broken into my apartment! THis is a weird feeling... this is home but not really, and Melbourne is home but not really either. Think this is how a lot of migrants feel... that their 'home' isn't really their 'home' anymore but tey haven't sunk their roots in their new 'home' either so in the meantime, we're like in limbo... straddling... not really belonging anywhere! Weird feeling!
viciouskitty74 SG Safe trip Rhonda. And get a lot more sleep on the plane. did you pack enough myjo 'mee pok' and bak kwa in yoru luggage?
viciouskitty74 SG there is a small fridge in my sister's garage. I think I shall kapo it into my bedroom and buy beer to store inside. tare makes me gian for alcohol again.
SydneyLibrarian SG This was what I felt for the past 3 years too Actually things got alot better since we bought our own place. But in the meantime, am still finding it hard to call Sydney 'home'.
tare SG erm.. the thing is i prefer martell to beer yest 3 of us had 1 bottle in 2 hrs and damn i wasn't even high
viciouskitty74 SG Same lah. I like VSOP too. Volka, Gin and stuffs, are consumed in small quantities. But no fish....prawn also good. Just managed to bring in the fridge....its heavy. I still need to clean it up. at least can store in snacks there....so I dont need to go out my room too much.
Rhonda SG We're talking about Melbourne, where a lot a lot of Asian food can be found there. Besides, no food's allowed to be brought into Melbourne. Their customs is very very strict. They even have a show "Border Security", on the passengers who tried to get all kinds of stuff into Australia and kena caught.
viciouskitty74 SG basket.....the fridge is sort of working. But the carpet floor is making the fridge hard to open. And it got that typical fridge sound. Maybe I shouldnt keep it in my bedroom. how?
Rhonda SG Yeah... my colleagues who've moved to Melbourne for a few years tell me the same thing - that they sometimes still don't feel that it is really their 'home', so much less me! One of them who's divorced and living alone said that it's only after she bought her house and then a cat and a puppy and started working on her house and garden that she felt it's starting to feel like home.
viciouskitty74 SG I like that idea very much. If I get a new home, confirm I am going to make all the bedrooms self sufficient wans. Hang on the wall tv screens, radios, fridge, computers & bed stuffs.
Fatum SG the place where I sleep doesn't feel like home to me .... i've been trying hard to convince my parents to buy a property in vancouver and just move over here for good .... maybe then we'll find a new place to call home .... but in the mean time, home shall be that little terrace house in cashew road, on that cramped little city state the rest of the world calls the gateway to the east ...
Fatum SG 2005 .... for 2 weeks .... I left in 2003 .... so yeah ... I should make a trip home soon ....
